IUASP Invites Academic Leaders to Build and Lead New Journals
IUASP is launching an initiative to develop new journals across disciplines. As part of the initiative, IUASP invites scholars from around the world with strong academic expertise and leadership experience to serve as Editors-in-Chief and work together to build journals under its new publishing model.
This is more than simply launching a new journal. It is an opportunity to build an academic platform from the ground up, explore a new approach to academic publishing, and turn a shared academic vision into action.
IUASP operates under a new publishing model in which part of the APC revenue is reinvested in peer review to offer substantial rewards to reviewers, thereby directing greater value toward those who contribute to the quality and integrity of scholarly publishing. The model is built around transparency and public oversight. Guided by this vision, IUASP aims to create a fair, transparent, and efficient publishing ecosystem that recognizes the contributions of everyone involved in academic publishing. We firmly believe that this new publishing model represents a new direction for the future of academic publishing. Under this model, greater resources and support within academic publishing are devoted to peer review, with greater recognition given to the contributions of peer reviewers. Every adopted peer-review report receives a financial reward. At the same time, IUASP promotes greater transparency through the publication of review reports, post-publication discussion, transparent publishing operations, financial disclosure, and member co-governance. Ultimately, we hope to create a publishing environment in which Editors-in-Chief, authors, reviewers, and readers are not only participants in the publishing process, but also contributors to the development of the wider academic community.

From Academic Vision to Journal Development
Establishing a new journal is far more than creating another outlet for publishing articles. It is about building a lasting academic community around a shared research focus, fostering high-quality scholarly exchange, and supporting the wider dissemination and impact of research.
As an Editor-in-Chief, you will work closely with IUASP to define the journal's academic scope, research areas, and long-term direction, build the editorial board, and gradually develop an international academic community around the journal. With the full-process support of IUASP's professional team, you will be involved in key aspects of the journal from the very beginning and turn your academic vision into a platform with lasting impact.
IUASP's vision goes beyond creating new journals. At its core, we aim to rethink how academic publishing can better serve the research community—by returning publishing to its fundamental purpose, making scholarly communication fairer and more transparent, and genuinely respecting and responding to researchers' needs.
